Activities Professional On-line Education is taught by Cindy Musial-Olson, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, LaCrosse where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Recreational Therapy.

She is Activity Consultant Certified, and serves on committees for professional organizations such as the Lakeshore Area Activity Professionals, and the Wisconsin Representatives of Activity Professionals.

She assisted in the development of N.A.A.P.'s first Resource Manual for Activity Professionals, which was published in the spring of 1996.

A pioneer in the field of online education for Activity Professionals, Cindy is instructing the N.A.A.P. and N.C.C.A.P. (National Certification Council for Activity Professionals) MEPAP (Modular Education Program for Activitiy Professionals) Part One (Basic Education Course) and Part Two (Advanced Management). Both courses are NCCAP pre-approved.

The courses include instruction on the documentation process, assessments of residents, program applications and quality assurance and state and federal regulations. Activity Professionals Consultant maintains a no refund policy.

Cindy is also an activity consultant to long-term care facilities, where she has successfully assisted nursing home activity departments to meet compliance in federal and state requirements. Her consulting services also include on-sight assessments, new documentation procedures and inservice to staff. Cindy has been a presenter at the N.A.A.P. convention and at W.H.C.A. and W.A.H.S.A. conferences on topics ranging from documentation to customer service.

Cindy's business philosophy: "The Activity Profession is a primary focus for the quality of life issues faced by persons residing in long term care facilities. In order to gain recognition by other team members, we must first educate our peers, then educate the team to the real therapeutic benefit of activities."
